did my 80 swap today. well most of it. the truck is an 05. had a 4l60. i bought the nelson conversion harness, and the main portion is stupid easy. well i plugged the trucks speed sensor into the rearmost one on the 4l80 and when i went to plug the other one in i realized that it had three pins. my swap harness came with a two pin connector. can i just take the sensor out of the 60 and use it instead?

 

The 80e sensor has three pins? Is that what your saying?

 

yep. the sensor in the 80 is three pin. can i switch in the sensor from the 60? ive been reading as much as i can. havent found that answer yet. funny thing is that its usually your posts

 

Never seen one with three pin, what year is it out of?

 

If the connector will plug into the 60e sensor it will probably work. Maybe jump on o'rielly auto parts web site and see if the 60e and 80e speed sensor part numbers match up.

 

hey thats a good idea.

im not really sure what year it is. it has the separated cooling lines. i believe that would be 97+ not sure what year specifically though

 

they do seem to be the same part number. i think i may try it. i still have to get my yoke and shorten my driveshaft before ill know if it works.

It looks like two pins to me. Have you tried plugging the connector into the speed sensor?
