Default 8.1 4l80e work with my 6.0?

Friend just bought a wrecked 01 2500 with a 8.1 and 4l80. He needs another 60 so I was going to work out a deal with him and build the 80. Will the big blocks 4l80 mount up my 6.0? Been doing some research and searched "4l80" in here and haven't found a solid answer.

Yes they will bellhousings are same, just need either flexplate for an 80 or a converter with 60 bolt pattern and possibly a spacer for the flexplate of you gonwith the 80 flexplate

You can make any year 4l80e work, though the oldest can be a pain. 2001 and newer have the better OD planet setup I think.

Be sure to find a ecu rom that you can do a segment swap with. I used hptuners for mine.

Also, 32 spline input shaft if youre 4wd, new driveshafts, cross member mods, coolant line mods and so forth.

My build thread has a lot of this detail.
