60e problem after rebuild
After being with out my tahoe for 3 weeks I finely brought the 4l60e in to get built by a shop.. i installed it tonight.. the drive home was a disappointment to say the least.
I installed sonnax hp-4l60e-01 shift improvement kit
I bought the "corvette " servo and the sonnax 4th gear servo and they installed that.
The transmission doesn't shift like it should..it shifts but it seems sluggish . It doesn't shift like a shift kit was installed.
there isn't overdrive . Driving 65 with cruz on the tack is showing around 2700,2800. In OD,Before it was around 2000 at that speed.. I manually down shifted to drive and the tack maybe moves 100-300 rpm higher... shifting back to OD and the tack lowers the same.. 100-300 rpms
I spoke with the shop owner ..and Saturday i plan on bringing the tahoe to them to check it out
.. i would like to get some opinions before though.
Would the 2-4 servos cause these issues if it wasn't checked for the correct amout of movement?.. or if the spacer washer didn't get install? I reused the pin that was already in the tranny.
I appreciate your help

One other thing to add. I was gonna use a 4l60e from a 05 but discover it was bad. Since i installed the sonnax kit in the 05 valve body and the casting numbers are the same between the 2 (4216995) i swap for the 05 VB and separator plate.. was that stupid and possibly causing these issues?

I checked the fluid level and seen it was a little over filled. After i siphon some out i went for a drive and noticed it shifts alot better then prior. Still don't have OD.. but it did go into od for a moment but went back into drive.
So Is the 4th gear servo responsible for all of 4th gear operation?.. i had them install the sonnax 4the gear super hold dual servo #77767K

With the overdrive 4th servo, I would suspect incorrect installation or the servo pin length wasn't checked. I have seen some of the after market 4th gear servos causing no 4th. If you have second gear and third, 4th shold work,it just adds a band.

You can measure your servo travel by pushing in the center of the outer servo cover, measure how much it goes in. Put a pry bar between the body and cover. A properly installed/set up servos will have about a sixteenth to an eighth inch of travel.

Magabuddys As for The 4th gear adjustment this is what i to am wondering.. the shop that rebuilt it claim they checked it And i asked if the washer that goes on the e-clip was installed.. they also claim it is. I should of went with my guy feeling and slide under the tahoe and checked travel before dropping it off with them.
Wolftrk99, i followed the directions and drilled using the supplied .093 (#42) bit... but i now am second guessing myself and wonder if i missed it.the directions are a bit vague..to me. I assumed the 3 included drill bit was all i needed to complete the installation.. Stupid question..but Would that make that much of a difference if i didn't drill it out or wrong size?
