I pulled it off and looked it over yesterday again and I cant see anything wrong according to the instructions... I tried lining up the gaskets again and took out all the washers in the accumulator and still.... the same thing... I dont want to drop a couple hundred bucks at a shop since I spent so much time under it myself... I would feel kinda shitty about it...
-the truck did run perfect before I took it down...

Your problem is in the install. You need to drop the valve body and pull all the springs and pistons that you installed(one by one) and verify that they are correct and installed properly. This is the only way to figure out where you went wrong. Also, make sure you are using the right length bolts in the proper locations when you bolt the valve body back up.

It sounds like you have one of the valve body bolts in the wrong place. From ASTG update handbook this is very common and would exhibit the symptoms your describing. The mis located bolt extends into the sun shell inhibiting the sun shell rotation. There are 47.5 and 54.4 mm bolts used in the valve body. 47.5mm bolts have a 10mm bolt head, the 54.4mm bolts have a 8mm bolt head. The three 54.4 bolts should all be installed on the end by the 1-2 accumulator housing. If this is the case you might have to replace the damaged sun shell.

sorry for not updating you guys on this one....
-I picked the truck up from the shop with a freshly built 65e in it with the HD2 kit as well already in it ready to go.... the thing has never ran or driven any better in its life I dont think... this is the 3rd tranny in it so far. I scattered two 60's... lets see how the built 65 can do under my heavy foot, heavy truck, and the bottle... anyone want to place bets on how long before I'll be doing my 80e swap??

its almost too embarassing to post up....

but I will anyway. LOL... I left the pressure regulator valve out from behind the boost valve that goes into the pump. without it, the pump cant build pressure and it does exactly what it did. he took it out of the truck and tore it down to look at the clutches and all the frictions and said they were showing some pretty serious wear after 30K miles of my driving. (factory type frictions) and he had a freshly built, and a nice one at that, sitting in the corner of his shop that he had just finished. I asked him how much for it and when he told me that he would sell it too me for HIS cost of parts I jumped on it. no labor at all included... I just had to give him a hand stabbing the new one. it worked out in the best possible way it could have.
