Default 6 speed clutch. What are you guys using?

My Centerforce DF 12" blows. I have heard of people having shifting issues with the CDF but I didn't believe them since I didn't ever have problems in my old Nova. At high rpm it doesn't like to shift. I have to granny shift big time and on a long 2nd or 3rd pull, while doing tuning, when I grab the clutch at 6500 to slow down it won't release. I have to pull the shifter out of gear in order to coast. The pressure plate fingers must be flexing. I have bled it 3 times and feel confident there is no air in it. It feels great and drives fine while normal driving.
I've heard the Textralia is good but having a hard time swallowing the $$$ . I'm thinking about a Mcleod or Spec dual disc but the $$$ is in the range of the Textralia. Maybe Ram or LS7?

I'm running the Spec stage 3, but I hear good things about the Textralia's. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for I guess. I'd go with the Spec 3+ if I had to do it again. Holding capacity of a stage 5 yet street manners of the stage 3. The CF in my Z28 sucked donkey *****. I hated that thing too.

I'm going to have to do something. May have to start digging for that old Mason Jar.
But Vanillagorilla, what do you think about those 4.56's? What size tire do you run? I'm torn between 4.10's or 4.56's. I'm sure you have a little lag issue as I do since you have a 67mm with the 4.8. I just don't want to raise my interstate cruise rpm very much nor do I want to create more traction problems with the 4.56's. I currently have 3.73's.

I am running the LS6 I got for $325 but it is going south on me after 15 months of use and about 3K miles. LS6 worked great, but i think running 26 times in one day doing hot laps killed it. Last two runs in the burnout pit I had smoke but no tire spin!

In the works will be the LS2/LS7 when I get the funds. $550 to my door! do a search on LS1Tech, for more info!

I'm seriously considering the LS7. My local chevy parts dept. sells me parts at wholesale since i'm such a good customer They are usually right in line with or cheaper than gmpartsdirect but without the stupid shipping costs. A PP, disc and flywheel is around $450 on gmpartsdirect.

I run a 31.9" tire, so my 4.56's are almost exactly equivalent to a car with 3.73's and a 26" tire. I have some lag, but by the top of first I have full boost if I'm only running 5psi. At 10psi I have full boost right when I hit 2nd. It's nothing a EBC wouldn't take care of though. I know a 2-step would I would probably be at 5psi at launch. Let me know if you can find one that's under $200. My rpms on the freeway are about 2000rpm at 85mph. And 1800rpm at 75mph.

I hear good things about the LS7 clutch too, but I don't know how it would behave behind a 5000lb truck.

For me it might work because i don't have as much HP as the new vette. So i was thinking with less HP and more weight I might be good!
