Default 6 lug 14 bolt

I have a rear end from a 2wd ss to put into my truck. It has drum brakes, but I'm going to swap those out for my disks, and getting new u-bolts. Is there anything special I need to do the swap, or is it as simple as it looks?

Everything measures the same, I figured I would just measure for the driveshaft after it was all in there.

I searched quite a few things, but the numbers get deleted from the searches. 14 bolt, 9.5", 6 lug, everything has numbers in it.

The u joints are different unless you got a driveshaft with 1350's.. I used a conversion u-joint for mine im pretty sure it was a Precision 448, I just went to napa P448 same part and usually in stock

No, at least not on my truck when I did the exact same swap from a RWD SS also. But, as MustangPunk said you will need a different u-joint(Precision 448) that has two different sizes(one for the driveshaft and one for the yolk).

Good to know, I guess I'm stopping by Napa tomorrow.

I didn't measure, but I thought I would have to shorten the ds. I'll still measure before and after, but I totally believe it once I looked under the truck.

My driveshaft length was fine, I'm sure your's should be too.

If you are making enough power to need the 14b...then upgrade your driveshaft and convert to 1350 u joints. Don't go cheap now and regret it later.

As for the brakes, they will bolt up...but the calipers will be "clocked" due to the angle of the brake flange. Functionally, there should be no difference.
