Aren't the 700r4's the non-electronic version of the 60E?

So is there an advantage to putting the 700r4's internals in a TH350? I'm not getting it

I don't see how that could be an advantage or even possible. If it were even possible, what would the advantage be? This seems silly to me.

Most of the prices I am quoting are from Speed-Eng.com or another aftermarket dealers

Dipstick tube --- the 60 tube will not work, new $9
Crossmember --- modify the stock one or buy a custom one for $280
Converter --- you can run the stock 80 converter or get an aftermarket
Crank spacer --- You can buy a new one for $77 or get a used one for cheap
Flexplate --- $200 or get a used stocker
Fluid line extensions --- $99 for braided lines, or get stock lines for the 80 for I think $30 from the dealer
Linkage bracket --- $6
Converter dust shield --- $70, but mine came with it
Harness Upgrade --- $161 from Speartech
Transmission Mount --- $15
Transmission --- $2200 built, from Speed, I got a eBay for $1150 shipped
Updated Software --- $41, but I already have HPTuners so nothing for me there
Custom Yoke --- $150, Talked to speed-Eng and this youk makes it so there is no modification to the stock driveshaft.
Shiftkit --- Got a great kit from FLT $100

My total is $2081.00, and yours will be different depending on what you want and already have.

Check out the sponsers on the right and they can help you out

Some of those things you don't need if you get a new converter. PI now makes an 80 converter with the LS1 pattern so you can skip the flywheel and crank spacer.

well as you may know, the th350's do not have overdrive, with the 700r4 gear ratios, they are longer, so you have plenty of top end. i was explained this by a transmission guru who has been building racing transmissions for over 30 years. im not sure on all of the specifics between what 700r4 parts interchange with the th350, but that is how he summed it up. he basically said when a th350 comes in for a rebuild, it only cost him between 20-30 bucks for parts, and doesnt charge much more labor. so a rebuild would be FAR less expensive than a 60e. plus, you can buy 3 built th350's for the price of one 60e.
