Default 5-speed guys!!! What gears?

Just as title says. What gears are you guys running, i have 3.23's now, am thinking about going to 3.73's or 4.10's. Just wanting some inputs, RPM when cruising on highway, driving through town...you know, the usual.

I have the same stock 3.23's. I think 3.42's or even 3.73's would be optimal.

I'd give you my opinion, but I know you don't want opinions, just facts from people who have your setup and have done it. ;o) lol

Plus your rearend is stock. How is the hood by the way? Is tuning for the new gear going to be much of an issue?

My truck has the G80 and 3.73s and it drives just fine. not too much gear at all.

If you're going with a T56 in the future, and if you want 6th gear to be usable and to have a decent overall first gear ratio...then 4.56's min. If you're going to be running a turbo in the future with a T56, then I say 3.73-4.10.

T56 is in the future i hope. Why i am thinking about the 4.10's. Also i have been doing research on a replacement 5 speed instead of this NV3500. (just looking at all the options) But i don't think a TKO 600 will work or at least i cant find a bell housing.

Also any transmission replacement is far in the future. Gears are by the end of the month i think.

3.42's w/set of 4.10's in the garage waiting to go in. go for the 4.10's. you don't want to go to the trouble of a gear install and be disappointed. mine really hurts down low, i actually considered going lower. better put a tru trac in while your in there.
