Default 5.3 & t56

Okay so I did a 5.3 swap into my camaro 2wks ago and didn't change anything in the driveline besides putting in a roller bearing rather than a bushing. The Slave is brand new and the other hydraulic componets only have 800miles if that, since the swap the tranny refuses to go into gear with the wheels on the ground, however when I put the rear tires in the air it slides right in to gear. What would cause this?
Also, when I just put it in gear and start it, it lurches forward as if the clutch isn't disengaging and it slips at anything over 2k rpms. Is this a sign of a bad clutch? It worked fine with my ol LS1 and looked rather well when I was doing the swap and inspected the clutch. I have shimmed the slave out and it seemed to help with going into gear but only with the tires off the ground. When I measured the distances it was .153 so I shimmed the slave to .185 and it did the same but still spun the wheels when the pedal was depressed so I dropped the trans again and shimmed it to .202 and with the pedal depressed the wheels do not move.

The only thing I could see that would cause the slave to need shimmed more would be if there is a difference in measurements between an LS1 and 5.3 (Iron block). Can anyone shed some light on this?

I have posted this on LS1 tech and not one person responded out of 60 views, ANY help is appreciated!

Seems like the clutch isn't being disengaged. Might need to bleed the clutch hydraulics.
