I am looking at using a gm 5.3 for my 53 gmc project. Almost all the donor trucks I find are 4x4's. How hard is it to change the transmission to a 2 wheel drive without the transfer case. I am not sure about the output shaft on the transmission???

 

You have to take it apart and install a 2wd output shaft and you'll need a trail shaft as well with the VSS.

You better off finding a 2x4 trans.
