4wd 80e swap info needed
#1
Hey guys I just blew another 65e and im done with these things. Can someone point me in the right direction for either a writeup on an 80e swap for a 4wd?
Can I get a direct swap out of anything ?like an hd or something. If not whats the best vehicle to get an 80 4wd tranny out of?
Do they make an 80e 4wd tranny?
Im pretty sure ive got to buy a gear for my transfer case,or is theyre a particular transfer case that will bolt in I can look for and put both tranny and transfer in.
O also Im thinking i have to get a different little harness for the tranny Also to get it to wire up to my harness.
Any info would be apppreciated,thanks.

Nice writeup ,almost confusing ,the amount of work involved.Does anyone know if i can buy a matching pair transfer/tranny to go right in ?,of course with some modding but im trying to make it as easy as possible.Ya know a certain application ,hd or something like that.Man this looks like alot of work.
are these babies strong enoughh in stock form to handle power?like instead of installing shift kit ,just raise line pressure in the tune.
Thanks.

Thanks ,well appreciated.so is theyre any reason i cant use the transfer case that is paired with a 3/4 ton 6.0 litre truck,im just thinking itll be easier to do the swap.then I would i also be able to use same driveshafts out of that vehicle as well correct?Just trying to make it easy on myself. As long as it an extende cab also.if not no biggie on the d/s i can get one built. Thanks alot for the info .Is theyre any year i should stay away from due to like wiring issues or fitment reasons?or will they all work with some finessing of the harness.sorry to be **** I just dont want to waste my money and find out it wont work. Thanks again

Yes, get a T-case that came behind a 4L80E. It will be stronger as well. Make sure it is the same style T-case though. What year/model truck is this going into?
edit: Never mind, I see it is a 2003 ECSB.
Autotrac?

Thanks ,are you asking if im auto trac or suggesting?Cus I was wondering if im better off going awd and hopefully itheyre cheaper than the hd transfer because ive been calling around and they want more for the transfer than the tranny. Now i know y everyone is going with the gear in the transfer. If i go awd what happens with my pushbutton dash ?just unplug it?
