Is this a good time to add in a trans brake or is it very involved to do it at a later time? Is there any issues or weird things that have to be done in order to run on the street with a trans that has a brake?

I have a 2wd trans, need a 4wd and you are coming into an opposite situation.... If youbwere closer id say we could swap transmissions, but shipping from florida on a trans is as far as i know about $150....

4wd gets its speed from the transfer case.. if you don't add the reluctor ring back the same as 2wd .. Will not keep the correct speed and will not shift gears in the tranny.. I know had this problem myself..

The one I have is off an 2003 and i had to add the reluctor ring to the rear planetary... How you can tell mine had a blank oss plug in the rear, added sensor still had no real mph reading, stopped around 20 mph tranny only shifted if I let off the gas... Even went back to the tranny shop no one caught it... Read it on the LS site, pulled the oss plug looked, no reluctor ring . Took me over a month to find and I was one mad MF at the transmission shop!!!

Hell that wouldve been first thing id have checked was iss/oss sensor readings and wouldve swapped sensors, then when i still didnt have an oss reading them id have looked inside... Lol!! But i have seen 4wd 4l80 with the reluctor in place, unless someone replaced the planetary and didnt transfer the ring, whoch is entirely possible....

Would you still be interested in trading if I cover shipping?
