Default 4L80e swap parts list

Wanted to doublecheck the parts list for the 80E conversion. I have the converter, transmission, conversion harness from PCM of NC, crossmember from dirt track racer, drive shaft yoke. is there anything else I need? Can I use my factory dipstick?what about the transmission cooler lines? Thank you!

Need the 4l80e specific dipstick tube. Fluid level must be checked in relationship to the transmission case, NOT the dipstick markings.

Transmission cooler lines depend on what year the 80e is. If it's pre 97, you can use your stock lines. If it's post 97 the rear line needs to be extended. But, ideally you need an aftermarket transmission cooler and AN hose makes the routing very easy.

If you have a 97 up transmission and do choose to use AN fittings for the cooler lines, the rear port must be the correct fitting or else you will burn up the trans guaranteed.

Just did this conversion on my fbody with an 06 4l80e. The rear tube is longer for internal oil circuit differences between year models.

Do you have the driveshaft yoke part number? Is this for the rear diff? If so can't you just use a conversion joint?

Don't you need a L's style flexplate, spacer and bolts as well?

What do you mean I have to check the fluid level as compared to the transmission case not the dipstick markings? Why couldn't I use the dipstick markings? Also the drive shaft yoke is off of a driveshaft that came with an 80, I don't have a part number however are you looking for one?

You need to take pan off and see how far the dip stick goes. Cant trust the hatches on the stick. My Jakes 80e likes to see fluid level 1/4" above pan at operating temp.

Just get a 80e disptick. The ujoint for the conversion is a napa 447 precision. Now i just installed a 80e on my tbss. I got the yoke with the trans and its alot wider than the original yoke. Took some looking and found the u joint for it. Its a neapco 2-1435. 1410X1350 but your driveshaft i believe is a 1310 stock. So measure and see what joint u need. The 447 is a 1350x1310 joint.

For the trans line just buy some rubber trans line and exstend stock line to rear. I used this method for a few years without one issue.
