Default 4l80e shift linkage bracket

After putting the 4l80e in, I went to the dealer and picked up shifter cable bracket 15013290. The cable was about 3/4" from going into the bracket. After adjusting the linkage out, it feels like it won't go into park or down into first. Anyone have any ideas? I've read a lot and saw threads with the brackets that faces outward, but I don't think that is what I need. Truck Is 2006 Single Cab 4x4, trans is out of a 2001. Thanks for any help.

Flip the metal bracket that goes on the shaft. I ran into the same issue, once I looked at it a little harder - I figured it out.

You mean the bracket that bolts to the trans?

Yes, the one that slides over the selector shaft.

I wanted to reply to this thread since I ran into the same problem. There is a shifter arm you can buy that corrects this issue and puts the cable at the correct position. CPP and Lokar make it but CPP is the cheapest. CPP Part # CPTSL
