New pan gasket to replace the cork one. Now I can start putting things together again.
In total for this 1993 trans...
- all new seals, steels, frictions, bearings, bushings, and bands
- pump drilled to prevent front seal push out
- 2001 updated OD setup that's supposed to be stronger
- 36 element sprag
- internal dual feed
- direct drum drilled to prevent high rpm apply
- complete valve body rebuild
- Sonnax AFL valve kit using reamer
- Sonnax no push out case bushing
- torlon check bals
- pump rebuild with Sonnax parts
- custom linkage and NSS brackets, very exclusive, $$, pure art, sexy
- drain welded into pan
With Jakes, wolf, Atomic, gmc and others help I made a bastard child trans that I hope holds good power and lasts. 2nd times a charm, right?! I just wanted to doc in one place all that I did. It helps me deal with the pain of my truck in parts and being forced to drive my Lexus. Sigh, I need a late from whole foods to cope, and a manicure.
Tomorrow this goes on. Wednesday I start to put things back together. It's great I don't fear pulling this trans out again!

Just for this I'm posting even more mundane pics. And you've seen my face, I'm sexy.
Flexplate compare.
Jab a screw driver through a hole in the stock flexplate to lock it in place. The bolts are on tight.
No main seal leak! My pan is leaking though. I'll take care of that when I start the turbo part of the building when I need a oil pan drain.
In place. 3 rounds of tightening. 15ftlbs, 37ftlbs, 74ftlbs. Use blue loctite. My new bolts had thread locker already applied. Thanks TCI!!! Now I've fully shifted the weak point of the drive line to the diffs. Well, if the trans works this time.
Back under she goes!!! Too bad such a pretty trans will be hidden under a truck.
