I have searched all the swap info on several sites and cant get a steady answer, I know the yoke has to be changed and u-joint as well. But, did you rcsb guys shorten your shafts or not... Some say shorten 1 inch, some said changed yoke and was good to go?? Thanks guys

Yes use the original yoke that was designated for the 4l80e, but first mockk up your 80e and measure for your new shaft and have someone weld that yoke on and balance the shaft for ya, something like this if ure getting more than one different answer its just best to measure for it yourself.... if you need help measuring for a shaft call a sponser and im sure they can help ya.... i measured mine while all the weight was on the vehicle, put the new yoke your gonna use in place (In the trans), make sure the shaft sticks out about 1 1/2" to 2" out from the rear seal then measure from the inside of the C where the ujoint goes to the rearend C also... Hope this helps ya and someone else might do it different but has always worked for me

how i measured my was when i had my 4l60 pulled out i sat it next to the 4l80 then i measured the difference in the trannys and took that off the rear shaft. so say the 4l60 measured 26 inchs and the 4l80 was say 28inch i just took 2 inchs off the rear driveshaft.

)...and of course a conversion u joint.

My plan is to get a custom shaft made once I get my RCSB up and running with the 5.3/80E combo. Stock shafts aren't built to take much abuse and speed.
