Default 4L80E Question

I have a 1994 2500 truck with a 4L80E that has given up the ghost. I have a 1995 4L80E transmission out of a 2500. Is the wiring the same between the two? Do they interchange. I searched through 10 pages of the search with no definite answer.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Should be a direct swap. My 4L80E is from a 96 and I believe its the same too. They didn't start the cooler line quick connect slow pain in the **** SOB where did that clip go disconnects until 97 or 98.

Yes, it will work.
- You can't use a 91 or 92 because they have 292.5Hz. Force motor and wrong connector.
- You can't use a 93 because even though it has the right connector, has wrong force motor.
- 1994 and up have the right connector and the 614Hz. force motor, but the case design changed in 97.

These issues can be overcame, but at additional expense.

Easy: 94-96 4L80-E (MT1) and it'll bolt right up
(1997 and higher will require Sonnax line adapter for rear oil return)
Better: 1999+ 4L80-E (MT1) has improved gears (wider/stronger) and wider 2nd band
Better: 2000+ 4L80-E (MT1) now have top center mounting hole
Best: 2001+ 4L80-E (MT1) have improved overdrive roller clutch to prevent roller skew
