what could be causing a no 1st gear issue. just started out of the blue. no 1st gear even when manually put in 1st. also before the reverse gear would take a second or 2 to engage and now its instant. from what i was told, the delay was due to the dual feed or something like that. anyone have any ideas? this is a "built" unit from performabuilt with about 10000 miles

Did you pull any codes?

Dual feed and slow reverse is what I have. You need to remove checkball 9 I think to speed up the reverse engagement. I'll be doing this soon. Performa probably did this though.

I also have a 3200 RPM stall which triggers a false solenoid B failure on the 1-2 shift as the high stall makes the PCM think the lingering higher RPMs before the shifts are an error. I removed the associated code and everything is OK now.

i don't have any codes poping up. its weird cuz all other gears are fine and lockup still kicks in on the hiway too. im wondering if a simple fluid and filter change would help. last time i checked the fluid it wasnt bright red, but not brown or black either. kinda in between id say

would i even get a code pop up since im using the pcm of nc conversion harness that lets me stay with the 4l60 tuning?

Oh, harness... Dunno here. I reprogrammed my pcm to run the 4l80e.
