4L80E Low Gear Planetary
#1
I have searched here, summit and jegs and have found nothing.
Is TCI the only company that makes the low 1st and 2nd gear planetary sets for the 4L80E?
First changes from 2.48 to 2.75 and second changes from 1.48 to 1.57.
Would the computer need to have it's shift points re-calibrated?
Any ideas?

Thats the thing. I'll dream for the rest of my life to have the torque to need a 4L80E in my truck.
This would be going in my dad's OBS 1999 Chevrolet 2500 CCSB. It has a vortec 350 in it with a 4L80E behind it, connected to a 9.5" Semi Floater 14 bolt. We were looking to stick a 5.3L block bored to the 5.7L size or a 6.0L, to get a more efficient engine in it.
I figured the low gear set would keep the about the same overall first gear ratio with a swap from 3.73 to 3.42 gears in the back and get a better overdrive ratio. Just thinking out loud and wondering what you guys think.

The gear ratios are programmable to hundredths accuracy in the computer.
Personally, I love the stock ratios in the 80. With a stock 13" torque converter the engine stays up in the power band after a WOT shift better than it did with the 60 and a converter stalling at 3000. The closer ratios seem to outperform the greater range of ratios in the 60.
