4L80E install questions?
#1
Okay, i have a 6.0 and 4l80 going into my 99 ecsb next week. The 6.0 and 4l80 are still together from when i got them from the wrecked vehicle.
My question is,
when i separate them to install them do i need to pull the converter out and add any fluid to it?
If not do i still need to make sure that it is seated correctly?
Also any other tips for a tranny install virgin?

The converter should still have some fluid in it. If you remove it and it appears empty add a qt or so. The idea with putting oil in the converter is getting a little lube in it before starting it for the first time. To make sure the converter is in all the way look for a thread called converter installations originally posted by me. It will tell you the correct way to do things and also some measurements that you should be aware of. Good luck on the install. Vince

Thanks vince. I have that thread bookmarked and will be referring to it.
nonnie, i have not modded it yet. But with access to a bandsaw, plasma cutter and a tig welder i'll get it done.
