4L80E is in FINALLY!!!

The nice thing about the tall 1st gear is you can program the tranny to drop down to 1st from a much higher speed. Mine is programmed to drop back to first all the way up to 50 mph. I may have some lag right now off the line, but from 20 mph and up I can walk off and leave almost anyone.

yay i can vouch for some power loss with the 80e behind a 5.3. i still mustered 301hp and 298 torque with it. on nos i got 438hp and 398 torque. a 5.3 thru an 80e is a little sluggish. and the tables will all, have to be played with to get the shifting just right. good to see it up and running.

The more I drive it the more I think some of the loss is just in my head. I have been driving my Camaro everyday for over a month now so that could have something to do with it too.
I gave the truck moderate throttle from a few stop lights today and noticed that I left traffic behind rather nicely when the converter flashed up. It definately will kick down to first from way up there now also. Actually it hasn't even shifted in to third gear at WOT because third gear doesn't start until 102mph.
Some of the power loss is because I took my FLP/Dynatech headers off too.

I should be passing through Bowie Saturday to pick my truck up. I dropped it off today. Duke is a cool guy. I think he'll take care of me.
