2.48 first gear sucks. It is ok towards the end when it finally shifts at ~60mph but, the start sucks....NEED MORE POWER. Now I know why they don't put the 4L80E behind a 5.3L.

The converter takes about 1100-1500 to get moving slowly and ~2000rpm to move out at a normal pace. I haven't beat on it and will let it go through some lock up cycles during the week. Also letting the transmission go through some shift cycles before beating on it. Did do one WOT from a stop and the converter jumps to about 3000rpm or so but, with the lack of power, tall first gear, and tall rear gears the truck won't even think about barking the tires anymore...like I said it needs more power.

Will keep you guys informed once I get some more seat time with it.

So what rear gear to you plan on using? I would think nothing less than 4.10's?

I'm going to try more torque first and see how that does. I wouldn't go less than 4.10's though if I change the gear.

Went out and did some more driving. Getting used to the stall already. I'm glad I took the headers off because if the exhaust was too loud I don't think I would have gotten used to it so quickly. Right now I have stock manifolds and a stock catted y-pipe on with the magnaflow and it's [whisper]quiet[/whisper]

Looks like after reviewing some EFILive logs that the converter flashes up to 2450rpm from a dead stop WOT punch.

how did everything play out with the flexplate issues?
Just got a stock 6.0L plate and reamed the ever living crap outta the holes. The stock 6.0L plate had a 11.5"(large GM) bolt circle and the vig converter had a 10.75". It seems to be working fine.

Glad to see driving it is good an no problems! Yes, more power would be a good thing! So, you liking the converter?

Yeah, I'm getting used to driving the converter fine. It just needs more power, nothing else I can say about that, just needs more power. The TCC mph apply settings are not good at all though. I need to lower them some in fourth gear at low throttle angles to make it more drivable around town. The thing also locks up in the middle of second gear near or at WOT. I am just going to program that out I think.
