Anything after 2001 is the unit that has the revisions to the fluid passages I believe. However the older ones are good to. I would pull hair out over it.

What year did they start putting in the 12 o'clock hole in the bellhousing? And wasn't there another internal change what was desirable? Something about a roller bearing? Can't remember what it was exactly.

2000 was when they started 12 o'clock bolt hole for LS engines, 96 and older had a larger overdrive roller clutch. It's a catch 22 in my eyes, I prefer a 2000 up.

Ive been beatin the crap outa mine for almost a year now. Wiring is the same and your tranny cooler lines are in the same place as the 60e. No redoing your tranny lines.
