Default 4L80E assembly question

Is this part(spring retainer) present in all 80Es? Because I don't have one in mine. Looking through my box of parts from another 80E, I don't think it had one either. I believe that trans had a spacer that fits onto the wide end of the pin (may per part of a HD2 kit).

I've done a 2000 and a 2004, neither had part 59. I've got a 1998 one too but haven't had that one open yet. This might have to do with the change to the wider band and longer pin for the production year 1999, but not sure.

This is a 2004 case as well, and the other one was also a late model. I don't see that part in any of the band update kit photos either, so you could be right. It might have disappeared when they went to the wider band.

Correct, not used in later models.
