I keep hearing this turbo theory of long gears and to a point it is true but its all relative. A 4.10 gear will give your roughly the same first gear your truck came with and a little lower 2nd gear.

incorrect most of the turbo trucks on this board are far under geared for the combination they run

ive been 160 mph with a 373 and 28" rubber

think about that and what most trucks use

your truck will benefit from 410s

This sounds like a ridiculous question, but are you sure that torque management was disabled?

When I first got my truck running about the 80e swap (bone stock 5.3L motor, 3.42 gears) it would not spin the tires to save its life. After disabling torque management, I can stall it up and get the tires smoking easily.

I can spin both tires off the line, one tire on the 1-2 shift and again at the 2-3 shift.

If it gets a little cooler outside I can get some video. Right now 101F+ ambient, 120F+ IAT.

My fuel mileage is bad too, 8MPG city and 16MPG highway. Mostly because of high stall and heavy truck.

Mike from Vegeance racing who tuned mine. He did open torque management. Still won't spin. My wheels are 20" with 275/45/20

That is a lot of rubber on the ground to be trying to spin them.

I can spin 255/70R15s on the back of an Express fullsize conversion van. It was a little harder to break loose the 265/50R20s I had on it but I could spin those by powerbraking it too.

Yeah, but 255 and 265 are smaller contact patches than 275.
