4l80e 1/4 mile
#1
Not sure where to post this but.... I was wondering if swaping in a 4l80e is what killed my 1/4 mile time. I went from 14.4@94 with 2.4 60 foot to a 15.5@95 with 2.8 60 foot. the only other things i did was i got a nelsons tune and diff exhaust.

That probably has a lot to do with it. Your slower ET's coupled with higher trap speeds are pretty typical of those who have done the 80E swap.
I ran a best of 13.57 @ 99 with my 5.3/60E/Radix @ 9psi setup
I ran a best of 13.64 @ 104 with my 6.0/80E/Radix @ 9psi setup
If you didn't change motors and you're on a stock-ish converter I'd be very willing to bet that the 80E is the cause. Time for more power

yep the sts will be here friday woo hoo i just wish those damn 4l60e would hold up to the power, that would mean a 14.4 all motor and what ever the sts would add that would be even better!!!! oh well at least i dont have to worry about the tranny any more

might have to throw in a converter too, i also noticed that i would get alot posi hop as before with the 4l60 no posi hop. i guess it makes a diff when the 4l60 yoke will almost slide inside the 4l80 yoke
