Does it have a tag on the side? If so what is the number on the tag or any numbers you can find on the case.

Ok, here are some pics of the tranny and the #'s on it:

This was on the lower driver's side:

This one was right above that last one. It's very hard to read, but I'm pretty sure it says "TE042222":

Here are a couple of pics of the tranny itself. Ignore how dirty it is, it's currently sitting on a forklift in our sand blast booth until I decide what to do with it:

The guy who sold it to me said he would give me my $ back for it if I didn't want it, but he claims it came with a 350 crate motor that was dropped into a work truck that was wrecked before it got over 60k miles on it. Is it worth me trying to use or should I just get my $300 back?

Ok, so now that we know it's a '98, was it worth $300 and should I even mess with trying to put it in or just get my $ back?

It's still usable for the swap so it's up to you.

The main external difference is that it doesn't have the top bolt hole at the 12 o'clock position.

Does it have an different wiring internally? Does it still require the same crack spacer and all that as the one for the 6.0? What's the stall speed on these?

in the order you asked; No, Yes, would need the code on the converter to know what the exact stall speed is.

I believe they were stalled from 1800 up to 2500 depending on configuration
