Yeah, there's a huge difference...it's called cost of ownership. 80E--set it and forget it. 60E--replace the unit every time you change your oil.

The only thing I don't like about my 80e is the converter unlocking. It isn't a huge deal to me, and if I had to do it over again, I would do it hands down. It is a very good investment if you plan on having a dependable driver for years to come.

NOBODY ever goes back. Its like a dyno and street tune verses a handheld. Its a step up in every way. Everybody with a 2500 gas motor daily drives an 80E...

Can the unlocking be in the tune, I have read that for some, when the release the pedal it unlocks. I read that there is also a relay mod that some do to help with the locking. Not sure the details though....

I have a 08 ecsb that I am going from 70e- 80e and will have to get a new shaft to make it work. The Stalls are much more, I can tell you that much....

It took a lot longer for me to get used to the different stall than it did the unlocking/locking of the verter. I don't understand all the trouble people go through, it feels like a shift, get over it.

Yes you can get rid of the converter lock and unlock. It is all in the tuning...

Copy and paste in the TCC selection under lock and release. Pretty much what you are doing is changing the speed that the ECM needs to see before it locks and unlocks when in cruise or lite throttle..
