the EGR and the 4L80E files should have been delt with. I dont know why it is running the way it is but something is wrong. I mean not only the tranny but idle and everything.

maybe the spring in the regulator is hung or fuel leaking by for some reason causing your fuel pressure to be way off.

Genral rule is what ever work you did last is most likelly the cause of the problem, of course not alwas, but......
Did you check the fuel lines, they run right next to the bell housing.

What does the truck do? any codes? Why the fuel reg swap?

I'd be dead set at making sure that fpr was lubed up well and that tiny gasket seated properly. Did it idle fine with the "bad" fpr? If so put it back and deal with the hard starts for a minute or two to compare idling between the two as so you can rule the fpr out. If you are having fueling issues and losing power after second be careful of lean conditions...you don't have to hear the knock.

I will double check my FPR and I threw out the old one. It did idle a little funny with the old FPR but nothing like this! The idle is bad really really bad. I mean the whole hood shakes and sounds like it is hitting the fender. if I rev it a little the vibrations go away but they come back. I dont have any lights on but I didnt let it run for very long. If I punch the gas and let off real fast it knocks and sounds horrible!!!!
