Default 4l80 Converter Prob

Ok, got a problem... The torque converter bolts are bottoming out on the torque converter.. would shims help this? It's quite a bit of a gap...

I am using the 6.0 flexplate and spacer...

Can you pull the converter all the way up to the flexplate? Or you just wanting to use shims because the bolts are to long? Keep in mind that you need to set the converter spacing either way or at least check it.

The torque converter will not go any further toward the engine/flexplate. The FTI has 3 different alignment options, but still think the bolts are too long if I went back with the 5.3 flexplate. Spacing is at .106

I think it's a combination of both.

If you have the converter all the way in the trans and can not pull it forward all the way to the flexplate there is an issue. Stop and figure out what is wrong. Either a flexplate or pilot issue would be my guess.

Took out all the verter bolts and was able to push it almost all the way up against the flexplate, but problem remains....bolts are too long.... If these stock torque converter bolts didn't have the nipple on there they would work great. Sorry was a long night/morning.
