Ok...so my 4l60e took a crap...I am planning on putting in a GMPP 4l65e, but no-one can tell me and I need to know before I drop over 2k on a tranny, Will the 4l65e
A. Bolt up directly in place of the 4l60e with no modification
B. Run off my stock computer

What kind of truck and drivetrain do you have? As for as programming - same. Plug-n-play. If you have a 4.8 or 5.3 the only thing you need to pay attention to is 2WD vs. 4WD. If that matches then yes - it's a slam dunk. If you have an older truck (5.7, 5.0, etc.) or you have a V6 in a current or older truck this will not work.

great debate time...I can afford the transmission, but not the dealer install. If they install it its a parts/labor waranty, if I install it its a parts waranty. Now the question comes in the next 12k miles am I gonna mod it enough to break this tranny

any 60E or 65E has a chance of grenading on you...
I have broke 2 stage 2 4L65E transmissions within the past 2 years.
just depends on how you set it up..
is this a factory bought trans... oem replacement?
or is this being bought from a performance shop?
