I have a 08 rcsb 4.8 100k miles on it cam headers etc.. i have every gear including overdrive except i dont have 2nd gear..tranny is stock..

most likely has a worn band...the 2nd gear servo does not travel as far as 4th servo, so usually 2nd is lost first then 4th is close behind..

If money is tight you can extend the servo pin .150-.200...will get you by for a while

Also check the 1-2 acc. piston..if its plastic it can crack..replace it with aluminum..very easy to do from the pan area

A cracked accumulator will give you second gear starts. Made the mistake once of not putting the seal on the piston and smoked the unit in the D3 range on the dyno. Pretty sure I torched the over run clutch before I found the issue.

thanks for the advice i just put it in the shop yesterday gonna get full rebuild and a yank 3600ss!!
