Rcsb 04 Silverado 5.3 190k miles not sure on the Trans but the motor has less than 50k miles so they may have been swapped together. Long tubes, Cai, 3600 stall, corvette servo, 4.10s, & Tru-cool 40k. Stock 4l65 is holding fine right now. Thinking of spraying a 100 shot. Do you think it would destroy the trans? I know it won't hold it forever. How long would you think? Any help is appreciated. Just wanting more out of it while I get parts together for an 80e swap. Please and thanks.

 

At least do a shift kit and I think you'd be ok for a while.

 

Any recommendations on which shift kit to go with? I've been looking at the transgo hd2.

 

I've always used the hd2 kit and it's worked well.

 

Don't spray thru the shifts , cut the nitrous off 200rpm before it shifts

 

pill it to kill it.....

 

Power downshifts will also kill it faster.

I did I think 4-5 downshifts before my tranny tapped out.

 

I've got a NOS window switch/WOT switch to keep from spraying through the shifts and I can manually downshift it to keep it from power down shifting.
