Default 4L65E Cooler line

I'm installing a secondary Tranny temp gauge in the out going cooler line and would like to confirm what line comes from the tranny and goes out to the cooler in a 4L65E. I think the factory line comes out of the top fitting and goes to the rad cooler then to the auxiliary cooler then back in to the bottom fitting. Can someone nail this down? I have a GM service manual and it doesn't give me any info at all. Now I'll be able to tell what the factory gauge says and compare it to out going cooler line temps.
Thanks
Jim

the cooler line isn't were the temp matters, it's at the trans.

The bottom line is the pressure to the cooler. The top line is return from the cooler. Hope this helps. Vince

what he said.

Thought about researching a way to use the stock temp sensor on the pressure control switch already there. That was a quick thought. No further effort was exerted on that thought. Now, I'm thinking about it again. Anyone know if this is possible? PCM pinout maybe? No?

Thanks Vince! Appreciate the help. Cajun5.3 The coolant leaving the transmission is the hottest and is a good indicator of internal tranny temps. Having a gauge here and comparing it to the factory gauge will give me a better idea what's going on in there.

Well I got my new cooler installed today. Nice piece but expensive. It's a Setrab made in Sweden and I got i from a guy in Cali. I also had to replace my factory hitch. Seems that the 12000Lb weight distributing capacity is a little overrated. My car hauler loaded weighs 8000 lbs and is set up with about 800 lbs tongue weight but it's bending the hitch!! I put a Drawtite 14000 lb hitch on it. Here are some pics of the cooler. Uses factory fittings too!
