my trans guy said with less washers the harder it shifts...hes been building them for 23 years or something like that..i was confused when he said less washers means harder shifts...i thought it was softer shifts...he said hes going to put a heavyer spring behind the 2nd accumulator to soften up my 1-2nd gear shift. is this true??Thanks-Travis

everything this guy says seems backwards. anything i have ever read says washers equal firmness. with a washer you are effectively pre-compressing the spring and loading it so with the servo says shift it will shift faster and harder. how on earth would a stiffer spring allow for a softer shift? maybe hes been doing it wrong for 23 years.

That's what my new Tranny is coming with... Affordability and firmer shifts=performance on a budget...

I have stock exhaust, and yeah i would relate the clunk to like slack in the drive shaft, it is a good clunk.
