Default 4L60E upgrade how?

I would like to do like a shift kit or something for my trans. I was woundering what people usually do, how much it cost and what it does. I have heard of people getting a corvette servo? Is that any good?

HD2 shift kits are the way to go.. you can usually find one for around $100. And Corvette Servos you can find for around $20. The Shift kit and servos are excellent upgrades. They will firm up shifts and add some longevity to your Trans.. As an added plus if you like tires spinning at each shift it's the way to go.. If You do these mods make sure that #1 tranny is in good shape as in low mileage and serviced propperly.. And if at all possilbe get a good tranny guy to work on it

My trans has 78,000 miles, do you think that is too much?

i just put my shift kit and vette servo on and i have 85000 miles now. the guy that did it said the trans looked like it was in great shape. its never too late. your shifts dont have to be tire spinning though. break neck shifts arent too much fun light to light so you can chose from zero to five washers or something to determine firmness. from what i read most chose zero or one.

Which did you choose and how well does it shift? I wouldn't mind a 2nd gear scratch!

i chose zero washers because i didnt want a big shift except at full throttle and it shifts pretty hard but it doesnt break the tires loose. it probably would with one washer or two depending on your set up that is. its much better and safer than upping the line pressure for firmness
