Default 4L60E shudder only when TC locks?

I've got a question for you transmission guys. My sons 2004 Z71 5.3L just started shuddering when the TC locks at cruising speeds and making a noise you can hear with the window rolled down. Tap the brake while still on the gas so that the TC unlocks and the shudder and noise go away. Ease in the gas so the TC unlocks and it goes away. Other than that the trans runs and shifts fine. It's not slipping because the RPM isn't rising. So is the converter bad? Valve body, solenoid? Any help would be great.

Sorry man. Maybe your case is different than mine, but it sounds exactly how mine went. I still drive it. @dantheman1540 can even attest to it, I still tow with it lmao

But she prob needs a converter and some wear parts replaced to keep you going

it will need a tq converter eventually.
if you want to band aid it along to get through a winter, drop the pan and modify the TCC reg vavle.
you can either
A. flip the inner valve around, which will lock the valve in the bore, force on/off lockup, and help prolong the converter
B. buy the fitzall brand valve and install it. does the same as A but seems to be easier for some beginners.

Change the fluid and filter while you have it apart obviously
