4l60e ?'s

didnt find any posts tht would answer my ?'s...sorry if i overlooked them, i'm putting an almost bone stock 99 lq4 into my 86 bagged and bodied toyota, and also trying to do it on the cheap..lol
i'm going to make an lkq trip soon and have a few ?'s on the 4l60e trans....what yrs and cars have a capable 4l60e trans that will bolt up?
my lq4 originally came w/a 4l80e trans, will that be a problem when i send out the computer to get re-programmed and calibrated??
will the 4l60e torque convertor be a direct fit? (my lq4 came out of a 99 hd2500 so i know theres a difference in the crank)
thx

With that year 6.0 a 4l60e will not work, you need to use a 80e iirc. The 99-2000 6.0's came with a longer crank shaft, that only the 80 will mate to.. If you get a 6.0 that is later then 2000 It will work with the 60 as it has a shorter crank

You will not get a 60e to work with a "long crank" engine. With stock parts anyway. You won't find a torque convert that will fit. Only an 80e will work with that engine.
Edit: damn, looks like a double post... ^^^ Yeah what Mangled says.

Too bad. When you ****** a good down shift your gonna be towing backm to the garage. You got a good project going...... think of something to make it work or go 4 or five speed.
