Default 4l60e problems

Just got my trans. rebuilt. All parts came from Rock-On Transmissions. This is where the previous trans was rebuilt. I had a guy that I new that builds trans for a living rebuild it. When I put it in drive or reverse, it immediately dies. I cant get a hold of my trans man. Any ideas on what is going on? It is fine in neutral and park and full of fluid.

Sounds like the converter might be locked. Could be a failed converter.
If a TransGo kit was installed, or the PWM feature otherwise bypassed, then if the TCC solenoid is plugged or the lockup valve is jammed in the up position, the converter will lockup once the truck is started.
I highly doubt it has anything to do with the fact that the parts came from Rock-On.

What is a TransGo kit? I work on cars for a living, but not trans. No nothing about them. Do no that it has a fitting on passenger side behind eletric hookup, that has vacuum off of manifold. I bought the truck with all the mods already done. The trans has all custom parts from Rock-On. It broke the custom output shaft in half and broke off in planetry gears.

We estimate the truck to have about 410hp.

The trans got put back in today and the guy said it is still doing the same thing. He replaced the t/c and tcc solenoid. He seems to think it is something in the electronics. He said tomorrow he is going to put some kind of shift box on it. Does this sound right or is the guy just blowing smoke up my *** and not know what he is doing? Any would be great.

If you disconnect the harness from the trans, does it still die? If so it is a hydraulic problem with the trans not electrical.

Alright I talked to guy tonight and he said something is sticking in the vavle body. Does this sound right? I am giving this guy a couple more days to get my truck right and then if it is still not fixed I will get my truck and take his *** to court. I think this guy has never seen a race built 4l60e. Is it really that much different that a normal trans? This sucks cause I work on cars for a living, but I no nothing about trans, accept how to pullem and putem in.

I feel for you man! There is also a valve in the pump for lockup he should look at to. Tell him to make sure it moves freely. Also I would check to make sure the lockup solenoid in that same hole is not stuck on or have a chunk of in it. This sounds more like your problem. Keep us posted.
