The most expensive choices are often those made ignoring the voices of experience.

i wouldnt give up on the motor, i would actually adapt it to my stang. car is setup for drag and is light. that motor decent trans 2700lbs with driver will hold up and do pretty well.

use stock LQ9 hit 13s 12s on juice. figuring i hit low 13s on a 75 shot with a 5.3 on street tires. also LQ9 can tow my stang.........this will only happen if i dont solve the tranny problem

Just curious - how much have you spent on the 4L60E so far? Mine was $3400, and I did the 80E swap for just about the same amount of $$.

no where near what you paid. i got a serious reduction in price on parts. but to me a 80 isnt worth the hassle/time or money thats involved.

i really hate to see someone give up/de-mod a truck because of the "hassle/time" i always thought that was the fun of it. well hope you get it worked out, for your mods... someone should be able to have a 60 hold together for ya.

my mods? for a 60e to hold up i would need somewhere around a level 5 build for sure this if you think of level 5 being the parts used from FLT. which i have most of those parts already but never had the upgraded shafts/drum/sunshell/etc
