glad to hear you dont have to demod and everything is well taken care of, when my tranny goes i think i might skip the 6 or 7 broken ones and go straight to a level 4 or 5. expensive, yes but it will keep the hassle down for the long run

haha well i wouldnt be set on FLT, i might use century transmission because its only about 20 miles away, not that distance really matters once your tranny is blown anyways, its not liek the truck can move.

see thats exactly the situation i dont want to be in right there...hopefully if and when my tranny blows, currently trying to prolong its life with a cooler, extra quart of fluid with the remote filter and a temp gauge servos and shift kit (fingers crossed), when the time comes it will be quick and the only hassle will be in the pocket book but ill get it pretty built to keep from having multiple blows

I wouldn't overfill it if I were you, it will just blow out the vent and soil your undercarriage.

you dont overfill it with the extra qt. with the filter and other lines running to and fro an extra qt will fit in with the extra displacement involved in the system.

So what did they do, replace the part that broke with the same one..I know that the 5 planetary is the best and I think the GM ones are better than most after markets. If they replaced the same part with out looking at anything else than wouldnt it just break again? Did they take time to find out why it broke, maybe the quality of the build isnt there and something isnt aligned right. Also if something breaks you can get metal shavings or pieces of clutch break loose and contiminate the tranny...did they take the time to clean it all out? I hope it works for you, because Im on my 3rd build and I for one know how much it sucks to not have your ride and get toted around every where
