when you say it locks up when the fluid is cold, how cold? It isn't supposed to lock until the fluid reaches ~135* or so. When you day it stops locking up when it's warm, how hot is warm?

factory tuning has the converter lock up enabled above 75* fluid temp... if it locks when cold, and wont properly when up to operating temp, you have other issues.

I don't know exactly what temp. The fluid is when it's cold..When I crank the truck from sitting awhile the converter locks up.. By the bay it's a 9.5" 3500 stall..after I drive it ten or 15 mins it stops locking in

It's cold here like 26 degrees, but I was just wondering if I could put a manual lock up switch on it?

better to find the root cause of your problem than put a band-aid on it hmm?

you COULD... but chances are, its a tuning related or solenoid problem... what brand of converter do you have and what do you do for tuning?? have you tried scanning for lockup command? I know in HPT you can command it manually with the VCM controls... easy way to narrow down if you have a software or hardware problem

I've installed bad parts right out of the box and had ro re-diagnose problems because of it... I understand its frustrating but like we've said, it would be better to find out WHY its not working right... you can try a switch, but if theres other problems it may not work that way either.

also, a lock-up control switch like what youre suggesting has the potential to throw the trans into limp-mode and give codes... why not just fix the problem?
