So in light of the recent realization that my engine mounts after 264,000+ miles have finally decided to start separating, i have been looking at engine mounts, figure while i have the exhaust apart getting my headers in (hopefully in the next week or two) i may as well get the mounts replaced.... Make life easier that way!!!! I have been looking at prices of OE mounts, and fact that mine lasted as long as they have. I have also been looking at aftermarket anchor branded mounts, rockauto has them for dirt cheap, and i mean something like $16 a piece.... Would it be worth it to go aftermarket or should i shell out the damn near 5 times more money for the oe mounts???

Have you considered poly mounts? Not sure on prices but anytime I can swap rubber for poly I think its worth it. Never ever ever have to worry about it again as long as you grease it!
Some people say theres a big difference in vibrations but I had poly motor mounts in a honda I used to have and it never felt much difference. I'm a nut for stuff like that to.

Yes, i have dealt with anchor before, biggest complaint with them is the fact they tend to get rubber everywhere, at least on the older sbc mounts.... They seem to hold up on stock vehicles..... At least as far as ive seen, never had any come back... Then again i have had to get a couple different mounts before i was happy enugh to put it in, kinda picky about my own qc!!!
