which pins are needed for the vss sensor to plug into the pcm? On http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn...atherpack.aspx I see 18ga-20ga or 14ga-16ga male and female pins

This was going to be my question exactly... and while we're at it, I've got a bare VSS connector and need pins for it, are they the same type that are used for the fuel injectors? Thanks

I was just curious to ask if this was the same if I was swapping from a 4L80E harness to a 4L60E. What would be the difference and how would the transmission react...

I just proved segment swaps really aren't required anymore.....I now have my 4l80 running on a 4l60 tune.

I'm using an earlier 4L80E and the trans only has one 2 pin connector and the 20 pin.
I'm confused between ISS(Input Speed Sensor) and VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) I'm assuming I plug the ISS into my harness but what about VSS.
The harness I'm using is from a 2000 Silverado originally equipped with a 4L60E.

The ISS is in the front of the transmission, im not exactly sure what the older 80E's look like.. got a picture?
The ISS goes to the PCM.. you plug in the VSS to the rear of the transmission, The VSS is already in the 2000 Harness you have.
Yes if you have a 4L60E harness you jsut swap the brown and white wire on the 20 pin connector.. and add 2 wires and a connector for the ISS..

New here and need some help. I have a 97 chevy 2500 4x4 that needs some help. It was a 6.5 diesel and still has a the 4l80e in it. Make a long story short.... the engine burnt up (literally). I have a good 98 5.7 vortec engine with complete harness (along with other parts to convert to gas) to make this swap over. The problem I have here is I can not find a engine harness for the vortec 5.7 engine with the 4l80e trans. I see that one can convert the 4l60e harness to a 4l80e with swapping some wires at the trans plug and adding a 2nd speed sensor to the harness and go into the computer.... but that is the newer style trucks. Does anyone know the steps/pins to change/add to make this modification to my year harness?
Thanks in advance, MK
