4l60e to 4l80e swap questions
#1
i was wondering if a 4l80e can bolt up to a 4.3L? because i know they made for ls motors mainly so could i use the housing off my 4l60e and and the input shaft and it would mate right to the 4.3L?

It's easier than you think. The 4.3 is classic Small Block Chevy®! It has the exact spacing and bolt pattern that the 4L80-E is designed for.
Use a lower bellhousing for a OBS 4x4 truck. That will be a cast aluminum piece instead of a stamped steel one.
The bellhousing of the 80-E is fixed and no shafts will swap over - totally different (and superior) design. You'll be a little bit on your own with the swap. I don't see many, if any, putting 80's behind the V6.
EDIT: Never mind Quik's comment. His 60 just broke and he's a little sore because he can't have an 80.

well im building a motor w/ 270ah cam, 10:1 compression, fully reworked heads, and a 150 to 175 shot, so i think i need a built tranny and 4l60e's dont have best rep for keeping together under high hp
