4l60-E compatibility for 2000 Silverado
#1
I've got an untouched 4L60-E in my 5.3/A4/Auto-trac Z71 (nearly 150K miles) that is worn out and is experiencing the famous TCC slip syndrome. What I want to do is find a used, lower mileage 4L60-E and swap it in while I rebuild the original tranny myself-so that I can take my time. What years are a direct bolt-in/plug and play with the electronics? I know I need a 4wd tranny but does it also have to be from an autotrac truck?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The 2000 models really didn't have any problems with the 1870 code, if thats what your talking about. But any 1999 up nbs silverado 1500, tahoe, suburban, or avalanche will be the same.

99 Z71 210K I put a superior kit and vette servo at 70k.I had that stupid lockup surge for the last 2 years and recently code 1870 with no convertor lockup after warmup.I thought the convertor and or trans was finally smoked but after searching 1870 codes on here I decided to do the mod where you put the inner pump spring between the 2 tcc regulator valves so they cant move and you get rid of that E3 computer stratigy B.S.
I also changed my seperator plate to the transgo one cause mine was wore out. This totally fixed the problum,no more 1870 and it locks up nice and solid every time hot or cold.
