Default 4l60 to 4l80 swap no 1st gear no overdrive. HELP!!!

I finally finished my swap on my 2004 silverado and now I have no first gear or od. I'm getting these dtc codes.
p0785 shift/timing solenoid
p2761 torque converter

I used a tuned by frost harness for the swap and I was told by him that I did not need to connect the input vss, only the rear one. I have searched and read everything that I could since last night on this forum and still can't find an answer to remedy this. Do I need to get a tuner to resolve this? Also, does this seem like a trans problem? or a tuning issue? Thanks for any help that you guys could give.

With his harness you do not do a segment swap correct? Sounds like you might need to tune out a couple of tests for those codes. Reason being is the 80E uses less solenoids and with using a 60E program your computer is still looking for these solenoids.

When we did the swap from the 4l60e to a 4l80e in my 5.3L truck I had the same problem. It came from HP Tuner not having a program to marry the 5.3L with the 4l80e. Dusty Wilde found a guy who put those two together using an EFI tune and then transferring that to HPTuners.

had a similar problem when I did my 80 swap. I ended up having something plugged in wrong. I think I had the iss wires plugged into the vss. I truthfully don't remember but I got under it and switched something around and all was fixed. I thought I had boughten a crappy tranny.

Vince, I was told that the segment swap is not necessary with this harness. I called my tuner tonight to see if he can take care of it for me tomorrow. Thanks for the info. And Black04, Every time that I have a question, you chime in with your help and endless knowledge.. I would gladly pay a membership to this forum if I was asked to. You guys never fail. Thanks again.

Any update on this? I'm in the same situation. I was getting the same codes, deleted them, and still no first or OD

I would have to ask did you just clear the codes, or did you go into the tune and set the codes to no error reported. And if you did go into the tune to address these codes, are you sure you didn’t mistakenly select turn off the MIL lamp for the codes instead?

i cant verify how it was disabled, but the codes that were given with the instructions were deleted. for some reason a P0756 popped up, causing the truck to not have 1st and 4th according to the Hptuner reading on the DTC tab.

i can look at the tune today and tell you if it is turned off, or just set to not set the ses light.
