4L60 to 4L80 - Stop Lamp Wiring change?
I had hear that the 60E and 80E require different signals from the Stop Lamp switch. Is there any truth to that?
We did and 80E swap in my brother in laws truck following the trans wiring diagram in the sticky section:
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...g-swap-413157/
I reprogrammed the ECU for 80E control with HP tuners.
It drives and shifts fine. But... If I have the factory settings in TCC Lock up, it will hang the converter when downshifting to 1st and coming to a stop the converter is locked causing the motor to die. We have been driving it around with no TCC lock up percentage in min or max programmed in so the converter cant lock.
TCC Shift lock is disabled
Any thoughts welcome.
Shaun

It is a 2001.
Its been a while since I have been on the forum and not sure how to attach the tune and data logs (hope someone can fill me in as I know they are helpful).
For now, here are some pics and some more info.
I have TCC lock up set to a very high MPH to try and keep it from locking up.
I set TCC % to:
Min 0
Max 99
The computer is definitely locking the converter. When I lock it through VCM controls it is 100 % vs computers 99%
Logging "TCC Brake Off" it registers "Yes" when the brakes are applied, "No" when not on the brakes
The other thing is it is locking the converter in 1st way before the 1-2 shift and is staying locked in to 4th. The 1-2 shift happens at 17mph where the converter is seeing lock up at 8mph in 1st.
