first gear is quite noticeable versus a 4l60e (in a bad way).

I lost about 1-1.5 mpg highway, and city I'm not sure.

But, I can run my stock 4l80e with no TM and it's fine. The 4l60e I never felt confident enough to run less than 60%.

With a 60E it's always in the back of your head. "i'm going WOT, so this trans might die."

I have DEFINITELY felt that way with my 60 before

OKAY so another huuuuuge change of direction here. I got a line on a GREAT price for a brand new in crate allison 5 spd t-1000. And i know i could never break that thing. So here is my question, if i buy this t-1000 what would i need to do to get it in my truck? does it bolt up to the 5.3/6.0 block? what would it take to swap it in? Id much rather go the allison route then the 80 route because then i dont have to worry about it at all no matter what i throw at it...
