Got finished with the gear install today,(what a bitch) if you guys get your stuff from summit be sure they give the right bearings.Stock carrier bearings are what you need on the tru-trac not the ratech kit. Also all I could use out of the install kit was the friggin pinion bearings and seal.Does anybody know the break in period of motive gears,it didnt say in the instructions.

If you ordered a brg kit for a 8.5 that is the problem. The late models (1999+) I know have different carrier brgs. That is about the only difference and also why they call them an 8.6 to differentiate.
